Vacation in Isle of Wight, Paris and London
We had a wonderful trip this year.  The only bad thing was that we were in the air over the atlantic ocean flying home on September 11th when the terrorists hit New York and Washington.  Our plane returned to London where we had 3 tense days waiting for our chance to come home.

The first 5 days were on the Isle of Wight where all of Graham’s family gathered to celebrate his parents 50Th wedding anniversary.

Next we traveled by Eurostar (through the Chunnel) to Paris where we spent 4 glorious days walking through Montmartre, Pere Lachaise cemetery, BellVille, and Buttes of Chaumont.  My feet were so tired by the end but we saw so much!

Finally we had two days in London during which we saw the play Mamma Mia, took a turn on the London Eye and ate Fish and Chips!!

The only bad note was that we were flying home on September 11th, 2001 and our plane had to return to London when we were halfway home because of the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center. We were not able to get home for 3 more days.

The pictures below are all from the Paris portion of the trip.

A view of Paris from the Eifel Tower

The Eifel tower.

A fruit and veg shop on our walk on Montmartre.

The agile rabbit nightclub also seen on our walk on Montmartre.

At the top of Montmartre behind Sacre Coeur is a small square that is geared for tourists but interesting nonetheless.

Real grapes growing in one of the vineyards that is remaining in Paris - also located on Montmartre.
