Finally,
after months of anticipation, I went out and bought my Prius. Surprisingly
the buying process was very pleasant. Not only did I get a good
prius after some haggling, but the Leesburg Toyota dealership continues
to contact me asking if they can answer any questions. It isn't
often that the dealership's high level of contact continues after
they get your money.
In
addition to the great ride, I love the "bio-feedback" like
feature that lets you monitor your miles-per-gallon as you drive.
I find that I drive much better as I strive to get the highest
mileage possible. I had heard many stories about how the advertised
mileges of 50-60mpg were overstated so I have hoping to get at
least 45mpg. In fact, knowing that I drive on a toll road to work
where the average speed is usually 70mph, I worried that I would
not even achive the 45. So imagine how pleased I am that after
3 weeks I am averaging 52mpg!
On
top of that fabulous mileage, I love the luxury featues in the
Prius. Most people are probably used to luxury, but I have always
previously purchased inexepensive cars that had only the basics
such as power windows and doors. My Prius has climate control,
an outlet for my Ipod so I can listen to my books and music through
the car speakers, blue tooth and voice recognition to make my cell
phone hands free, a backup camera, keyless entry and start (I love
pushing the start button!) and tons of storage space.
Of
course it also has loads of safety features including front and
side curtain airbags, vehicle stability control and anti-lock brakes.
When
driving, the car is so quiet. On top of an almost silent engine,
the windows seem well insulated and I hear so much less outside
noise than my old car.
The
Prius is the best car I have ever owned and my husband can't wait
until we can someday afford to get him one too. |
