Trachengruppe Pfunds Fan Page

In the summer of 2008 we vacationed in Serfaus, Austria and had the most perfect week. One of our favorite discoveries while there was the Trachengruppe Pfunds. They are a group of traditional Tyrolean dancers who performed on the Wednesday night in the Saal via Claudia.

Of course the dancing was entertaining and the costumes of colorful dirndls and authentic lederhosen fabulous, but the attitude of the performers made it so much more. At first I couldn't put my finger on what that magic extra element was and I have come to the conclusion that it is their attitude. All of the dancers were smiling and laughing throughout their performance and just acted like they were having a party rather than performing a show they have performed over and over again.

Another highlight was that they pulled the audience into their fun. Between traditional choreographed dances, the dancers would pluck members of the audience onto the stage to dance with them. Of course most of us didn't have a clue what to do, but we laughed and gave it a good try and not once did the professionals look disappointed with our amature efforts.

One last note. The diverse and unusual dances were also part of the charm. Chopping real logs in time to the music, lighting real fire lanterns, cooking food were all so unexpected and thrilling and added to the evening.

So now I am back home in Virginia, longing to see the show again. Wishing I lived there so I could join the group and learn how to do all these dances and have the fun they are having. The next best thing is to become their number 1 fan in America. (Graham is their #2 fan)!

As their fan, I have started the ball rolling with the following fan behaviors :)

Blogged about them:

Created them a webpage (waiting for details to finish it up)

And I hope they are willing to let me participate in their fun from afar.

Began adding Fans to the Roster

If you want to be a fan too, we can add you to the list. It doesn't matter if you haven't seen them yet, or if you are the mother of one of the dancers. Everyone is welcome. Just sign my guestbook and let me know.
